![]() FL has a app menu under settings were you can just add it to the group you want. ![]() SLC3 you have to enter admin mode, then pick the row, then add the app. Just try both and see which you think is easier. SLC3 you have to have the wallpapers in local storage (which takes precious space), but it has a slideshow feature FL lacks. It has a built in wallpaper source in Unsplash. I like the zen and simplicity of FLauncher. I personally hate the GoogleTV home screen which bombards me with ads and unwelcome images. If you can find a streamlined way to use FLauncher, I'm sure you'd really like it. He has also posted instructions on how to use the method of remapping the GoogleTV remote's home button which is the method I have used. The developer of FLauncher has posted instructions on how to do this on his GitLab home page (search for "FLauncher - Étienne Fesser - GitLab"). This requires some finagling to setup and there are some caveats to be aware of - see other posts in this thread. On the rare occasion that I need to see the GoogleTV home screen, I press another button on the remote that I have mapped to do that (I happen to use the Netflix button - I don't need it for launching Netflix since I always launch Netflix from within FLauncher).įor your setup, you may need to use Android Debug Bridge (ADB) to disable the home screen you would normally see on startup and replace it with FLauncher's home screen. It does take about 2.5 sec to start with my setup (others' mileage may vary). If I press the Home button on my GoogleTV - which I have mapped to start FLauncher - (a one-time process using the app called Button Mapper), then I'll see the FLauncher home screen (nice and clean, showing just my apps). Now let's say I'm watching a Netflix movie. Since my GoogleTV is always on, it may be displaying a video I paused or a Netflix menu or a Plex menu or whatever I was doing at the time I last turned off the TV - I never see the GoogleTV home screen (nor the LG TV homescreen since the HDMI input is the default to be displayed when the TV comes on). When I turn on the TV, it defaults to this HDMI port and I see whatever GoogleTV is displaying at that time. My setup: LG OLED TV with GoogleTV plugged into an HDMI port. I'm probably the wrong person to ask since I'm not an expert, but I can explain my particular setup in which I never see the GoogleTV home screen unless I specifically call it up.
